Lifts Me Up

Time after time again
she manages to bring the best out of me.
She leaves my with this contagious smile.
It seems as I had forgotten
about all the pain.
As if the sun shines upon my face forever more.
The rain seems like a distant memory,
forgotten and buried in the sands of time.
She lifts me back up to the sun,
and I chose to live in her tender eyes.
I long for those peaceful moments,
careless and safe.
I just want to smile and laugh,
and forget what it's like to cry.
