Star

A star stills sits in the clear night sky.

Shining just a bit brighter, twinkeling at the world.

It's been with me for more than ten years now.

Still showing me the way,

Watching over me as I carry on.

Always the same star, shining even through the clouds.

It will always remind me of you.

Of how you held me close for all that time.

How you sheltered me from myself and the world.

Only you could shine as bright,

only you showed me how it was to love.

So I still cling on to that star

in desperate hope for better times.
